If Beth can't figure out a way to seduce her love's picky appetite, she fears her relationship is toast—burnt. She cooks up a plan only to have it boil over. What's a terrible cook to do? Can Beth brave a winter storm in search of a Christmas dish to save her relationship—or will the holidays be a distasteful disaster?

I laid down my now empty fork and asked, “Is there something wrong?” I half expected Sam to pay, leap up, and flee. That had happened before. In that case, I suspected the man realized that he didn't want to continue dating, that I wasn’t worth the guy shaving twice or even once a day.

For all cooks, good, bad, and in between, this delightful Christmas tale not only had me laughing out loud, but brought back painful memories of my first attempt to cook for a gathering of more than one. Beth’s predicament and her hilarious internalizing made this romantic holiday short a joy to read! Highly recommend this one to get you into the holiday spirit!

Kudos Ms. Douglas!

I'm sorry to say, I can relate to Beth and her cooking abilities. I could barely boil water when I was first married. Happily, I can now actually turn out a great boiled egg! Beth's cooking skills were non existent, but she was sick of her new love c Thinking she can squelch the constant bragging, she decides to prepare a birthday dinner for his mother. Oh my, but you have to read this engaging story to find out the hilarious consequences of this decision. A quick, fun read, just perfect for escaping the craziness of the holiday season.

Ms Douglas pens an absolutely charming short Christmas story in A Crispy Rice Christmas. You have Beth, who is a disaster in the kitchen and one boyfriend who does nothing but rave about his mother's cooking - and Beth is having them over for dinner. What's a girl to do?

You will need to read this funny story to see how she gets herself in and out of trouble. It's the perfect book to curl up on the couch and get in the Christmas spirit!
